A DESPERATE dad who dressed up as Spiderman, then climbed a building site crane in London for six days to demand access to his four-year-old girl, was acquitted Friday of causing traffic chaos.

David Chick, 37, was accused of triggering lengthy traffic jams after he scaled the 50m crane next to Tower Bridge last October 31 looking like the comic book hero.

During his trial, Chick -- who staged similar protests before -- argued that police were the ones to blame for any disruption. Jurors at his trial apparently agreed, finding him not guilty.

Chick, a member of Fathers4Justice, a group that campaigns for fathers' access to children in the event of divorce or separation, celebrated by whipping on a Spiderman mask outside the court.

When asked whether he intended to stage another protest, he replied: "Watch this space."

He and his partner, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had their daughter three years into their relationship, but they separated 10 months after her birth
