GRATITUDE,SAY THANKS, EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF ACKNOWLEDGING OTHERS.

WHISLT BELOW IS ALL TRUE, ONE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON ALL MAJOR EVENTS IN PEOPLES LIVES....IE BIRTHDAYS, XMAS AND ANNIVERSARIES. I AM RATHER SCKEPTICAL OF THE REPORT BELOW AND THEIR SOURCE AS TO THE EVIDENCE.

MORE women are physically and sexually assaulted during the AFL finals than at any other time, a sexual assault and domestic violence conference has heard.
Caught out ... AFL has been targeted again at a sexual assault and domestic violence conference.Sex support groups argued yesterday the league had remained silent in the wake of rape allegations against players. The AFL was firmly in the sights of the Home Truths – Stop Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence conference, which started in Melbourne yesterday.
Royal Women's Hospital Centre Against Sexual Assault manager Marg D'Arcy said women flooded victim refuges and violence help lines during a testosterone-charged finals series.
She said the next fortnight – the last two weeks of the AFL season – would be critical for women.
"Whenever there's a major sporting event like the Grand Final or the Grand Prix, calls for sexual and physical violence increase," Ms D'Arcy said. "The AFL has taken no responsibility for that and has remained silent on the issue. The AFL has to recognise the part it plays in creating a culture that allows that violence to happen. I'm not saying the AFL condones violence, I don't think it does.
"They keep saying, 'We need to get the message right before we can say anything'. We're very happy to work with them to make sure they get the right message."
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said the AFL was committed to address a range of issues involving sexual harassment, misconduct and violence towards women.
Mr Demetriou said the Statewide Committee to Reduce Sexual Assault, which includes representatives from the Centres Against Sexual Assault and the Office of Women's Policy, was developing an education program for the AFL. "We're looking forward to that program being presented to us. We have really relied on experts in this field to give us advice and direction," he said
