Where's Michelle?
It's school holiday time again here for 2 weeks, although some of us have to work and study......me, some like "A" get two weeks off school.Bored one day last week, "A" said she'd like to go to 'Reef H Q", well, you don't have to ask me twice,i'm still convinced i was secretly born in the sign of water, yet my mother insists i am a fire sign!
"A" has been out to the Barrier Reef just the once in her short 9 years, and whilst i'd love to give her more of an oppurtunity to go, the winds here at the moment are just awful and once out to sea on the reef the visibilty is crap.
I have been very fortunate to have snorkelled and dived much of the Barrier Reef, and reefs overseas. For me, the feeling i have when down in that water watching and touching all the critters, i think my heart slows down to 5 beats a minute! It's the most relaxing serene feeling i have ever experienced, its like i am supposed to be there.
This particular time however, fish, coral and critters were to be viewed in the Great Barrier Reef Aqaurium in town here. Above are some juvenile "Angel Fish"
These are baby "Humbug" fish.
Golden Trevalley. Many people catch these here and eat them, personally i aint too thrilled with their flavor. I do however love to hand feed them off the back of boat when out at the reef. The fish have become very cheeky and friendly now they are so used to tourists..hundreds of them every day, that hundreds of trevalley gather round the boat before its ready to head back to the mainland for a feed of lunch scraps.
A Royal Starfish, isn't she pretty :)
I apologise, i know they will all be cut off on the riht hand side, i haven't figured out how to manipulate them!
I have a few more to post, but i shall leave you with these for now :)
till next time, Michelle.
