A 28 year-old man is alleged to have driven at the car of a police officer who was operating a speed camera in Melbourne's south-east late on Sunday.
Victorian police said the speed camera operator escaped serious injury when his car was hit head-on at Hampton Park shortly before midnight.
Detectives from nearby Cranbourne charged a 28-year-old Hampton Park man with criminal damage, reckless conduct endangering person and traffic offences.
He was bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates Court next month.
P-plate driver clocked at 190kmh
A P-plate driver carrying three passengers in wet conditions was caught driving at more than 190kph in the state's south-east at the weekend.
A Victoria Police spokesman said the 21-year-old driver was clocked at 194kph on a divided section of the Bass Highway at The Gurdies, 100 km south-east of Melbourne, about 4pm on Sunday.
It was likely the driver would be charged with driving at a dangerous speed and other offences, the spokesman said.

Man cut in supermarket knife attack
A Melbourne supermarket worker had his hand cut when a man slashed him with a knife in the city's south-east overnight.
Four men entered the liquor department of the Safeway supermarket in Warrigal Road, Ashburton, about 11pm yesterday and were asked by staff to leave after they began yelling and swearing.
The group continued yelling and swearing in the car park and were confronted by a 36-year-old staff member.
When they were again asked to leave, one of the men pulled a knife and cut the staff member across his hand and threatened other staff.
The group then left the car park in a red Mitsubishi Magna station wagon.
The injured man was taken to Box Hill Hospital for treatment.
