Pristine Day

What a heavenly morning it was here this morning. Not a cloud in the sky, coupled with a slight breeze and a temperature of 28F ( 80dgs). I drove "A" to school and on the way i said to her "How bout we keep going , instead of turning off for school we'll he'd up to Port Douglas,( only a 4 hr drive!), sit on the Marina mummy will drink coffee and i will buy you an iced chocolate, have lunch and we'll watch all the tourists come and go off the yachts and pleasure cruises on they're way to and from the reef"? Heh, big mistake..lol, should of kept my trap shut for once! She really wanted to go, and so did i just quietly, the weather was perfect for it. It's also our most favorite local holiday destination. It was not to be. Out of the car she hopped knowing that only 4hrs away was the most heavenly swimming pools, shopping, food, snorkelling, marina and beach all being traded for a spelling test and maths test.
So, i drove back home with the same thoughts that of "A", to a Globalisation assignment, laundry and whatever else life was dealing me today.
I did get to spend the morning outside in the garden. I even had the pleasure of hosting a Ulysess butterfly ( giant royal blue and rather rare although not in our yard as we have the "host" tree ) on the palm of my hand. I think he or she was stunned.....flew into the sprinkler and had water on its wings so flying off wasn't an option. It was beautiful so i put it back on one of the orchids. We get tons of huge tropical butterfly's here, even after 15 years, i never get sick of watching them dance round...the colors are just amazing, mother nature is truly wonderful.
A quick wander down the beach was in order and i was able to watch some pelicans fight over a school of fish.
I am extremely lucky to live where i do, i just need to be reminded never to take it for granted.

Yes you are lucky but so am I for reading your scribblings about that tropical garden of yours. I live a lot of my life in my imagination so keep up the stories of the butterlies on orchids so that I can go on imagining I am there with you.
I need to stock up my 'imagined memories' for my old age.
love to A
