War of the Worlds

I saw War of the World's yesterday. What a powerful movie. I have to admit, i was never too interested in the old H G Wells version when i was a kid; i was only remotely familiar with the story. I was very impressed with what i saw yesterday. The special effects were brilliant.
I am constantly amazed at the human beings reaction to "tragedy", for those who have seen the movie, i specifically mean the "car" incedent in the movie. I find it very disturbing how many people turn ferral in times of tragedy. Why do people "loot" ? Why do some turn violent, in witnessing violent events? Having studied extensively,criminal psychology, i'm sure if i take the time to sit and think about it, i'll come up with the answers ,but still, it really has an affect on me. Definately go see the movie, btw Cruise is very average.
