On a Wing & a Prayer

Thought i'd share this montage with you all. It was sent to me by a friend here "downunder" via email.

The Glasswing Butterfly lives in Australia & South America. A butterfly with transparent wings is rare and beautiful. As delicate as finely blown glass, the presence of this rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and its demise alerts them of ecological change.

Rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass window, the translucent wings of the Glasswing butterfly shimmer in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green, and red.

I do get the occasional Glasswing Butterfly in my garden however they appear to be cyclic. As to whether or not i believe in its demise, well i'm not too sure. I do know that my garden is alive with many types of butterflies, especially Birdwings, there appears to be more than ever before.
