RETREATTAKE A MINI RETREAT, LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF YOUR SOUL.

June 30, 2004
EIGHTEEN years ago June Shirley Doyle walked out the front door of her north Sydney home dressed for a typical summer evening in a lightweight floral dress.

The then 50-year-old has not been seen since.

Her bank account has not been touched, her driver's licence never renewed and there is no record of her leaving the country.

Police today said they had reopened the case into the Waitara mother-of-two, who would now be 68, at the request of her family who remain hopeful of finding out what happened to her.

Detectives from the Ku-ring-gai local area command are now speaking with relatives, friends and associates.

They are also seeking information from anyone who has information about the disappearance of Mrs Doyle or knows her whereabouts.

An inquest into her disappearance is expected to be held later this year.

At the time of her disappearance, Mrs Doyle's two sons were aged in their 20s and it is understood both have since moved away from Sydney.

Mrs Doyle had been employed at Hornsby Hospital, where she worked in the children's ward catering area.

She was last seen on the evening of January 3, 1986, leaving the townhouse she shared with her husband in Yardley Avenue, Waitara, police said.

Wearing a dress mainly black in colour with a red and grey leaf design, she might have been carrying a purse.

Her husband reported her missing.

Described as being of white/European appearance, she is 150cm tall with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes with an olive complexion.

Anyone who might be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I HAVE LITTLE DOUBT THAT THE POLICE WILL SOLVE THIS ONE.
