NEARLY THERE..........

As those of you with kids would know, the amount of batteries used at christmas time is nearly as much as the presents themselves. I am half way through wrapping "A"s pressies, and already i need....8 assorted batteries....2 very weird ones that go in this "Dancemaker" toy.....its like a mat that lights up and you must follow the squares that light up...for 2 players...oh joy oh joy!!!
I am hoping by the end of this evening i will be all wrapped up. My mother rang today...most unusual to hear from her during the day, as it costs 3 times more. heaven forbid she spent any money. "Hello, Michelle speaking".

Me......"fine....are you playing scrooge this year"?
MUM..."no, i just couldn't remember if i sent you a card or not"
Me...."ok the, no problem, don't worry about it"..........meaning, you mean old woman, another year gone by without a card for "A".....for xmas or birthday, and another year gone by without a gift for her birthday or xmas.
MUM...."do you think A" would like a picture of you when you were her age, sitting on santa's knee for a xmas present"?
Me...."eerrr, i suppose......are you framing it"?
MUM...."nooooooo....its just a tiny one, bout the size of a matchbox, i was going to put it in a card and send it up after xmas was over"
Me......"ahem, that would be great.................biting my fu%^&* tongue"

PS....WISH ME LUCK.....AM OFF TO HIT THE SHOPS IN THE MORNING FOR FOOD FOR CHRISTMAS DAY, I NEED A SUIT OF ARMOUR I THINK!!!!
