WHAT A WASTE

What a waste of such a valuable human being such as David Hookes. Hopefully justice will prevail and the thug that allegedly took the life of one of Australia's favorite cricketers will get what he deserves. This is not this guys first assault charge either. A court date is still to be set for an assault charge in Dec 2002, where he recieved a summons with intent to cause serious injury.
One wonders if police will lay further charges after more investigation.
I remember a case in around a year or so ago. A young man was set upon on his way home one morning after NYE celebrations in the city. He was bashed and hit his head. Was in hospital a week and passed away. The case was taken to court, however because doctors could not beyond reasonable doubt say that the actual knock to the head was the reason the young man died, the defendant still walks the streets.
